About the Book

Masked Hero: How Wu Lien-teh Invented the Mask That Ended an Epidemic is a new book by Candlewick Press/MIT Kids Press that tells the true story of a boy who loved science. When a deadly disease came to China in 1910, he used his learning, courage, and quick thinking to invent a mask — the first version of the N95 mask — that quickly ended the outbreak, saving countless lives in China and around the world. Wu Lien-teh’s story teaches young readers that the simplest acts, such as wearing a mask, can save the lives of the people around you.

Masked Hero is available anywhere books are sold. We support local bookstores. If book is not available, the bookstore can order using ISBN.
